March of 2008 was the first full month at EQS that the higher powered 35/42 MVA EAF transformer was in routine operation, the new copper encased EAF water cooled panels were in place, and the recently upgraded EAF electrode regulation system was set to minimize power-on time. The operating result was a monthly production record of 873 heats. Congratulations to the EQS steelmaking team on this outstanding achievment! Such a performance will now allow EQS to produce forging ingots at an annual rate consistent with its current 450,000 tons Title V Air Quality Permit.
