Industrial Maintenance Development Program

The Ellwood Industrial Maintenance Development Program (IMDP) is a full-time opportunity for entry level maintenance positions made available to trade school graduates certified in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electro-Mechanical, and other approved Industrial Maintenance programs.

The 18-to-24-month program consists of six-to-eight-month rotations at several Ellwood divisions in specific regions. The program will afford participants the opportunity to gain experience with the different equipment and processes used by Ellwood and the chance to work with experts in the field. Once all rotations are complete, the individual will have the opportunity to be placed in a full-time maintenance position at one of the Ellwood Business Units based on job availability.

Northern PA Region which includes rotations at the following sites:

 

  • Irvine, PA: Steelmaking, Forging, Heat Treating and Machining at Ellwood National Steel, Ellwood National Crankshaft, and Ellwood National Forge
  • Erie, PA: Ring Rolling at McInnes Rolled Rings
Western PA/Eastern OH Region which includes rotations at the following sites:

 

  • New Castle, PA: Steelmaki ng, Forging, Heat Treating and Machining at ELLWOOD Quality Steels, ELLWOOD City Forge Group and North American Forgemasters , and Ellwood Specialty Metals
  • Hubbard, OH: Aluminum and Iron Casting at Ellwood Aluminum and Ellwood Engineered Castings
  • Hermitage, PA: Crankshaft Manufacturing at Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine and Ellwood National Crankshaft Services
  • Sharon, PA: Crankshaft Manufacturing at Ellwood Crankshaft Group Sharon Forge

Metallurgical Engineering Development Program

Formerly called the Metallurgy Loop Program, this entry-level, rotational position provides recent graduates with exposure to the products and processes of Ellwood companies at our manufacturing locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas.

During the approximately 24 month rotational program, successful applicants provide technical support for various phases of materials processing, utilize independent judgment to support colleagues solving operational challenges in a fast-paced organization, work with operations to ensure the effective execution of a rigorous quality program, and assist with experimentation of new materials and processes to expand and improve Ellwood's end products.

If you have a passion for what you do, are a real go-getter, and work well with minimal supervision, ELLWOOD is the perfect place for you to apply what you are learning in college to real-world, hands-on projects, and get paid for it!

Ellwood offers unique co-op programs for students to receive academic credits for work experiences. Supervisors work with universities to structure the co-op experience to fit the requirements of the university's program for the student to gain valuable knowledge within their major. Like internships, the co-ops can be in accounting, chemical engineering, electrical engineer, HR, IT, Legal, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Safety, and more.
