ADAM SCARMACK NAMED PRESIDENT OF ELLWOOD ENGINEERED CASTINGS

Adam’s promotion will enable Pat Callihan, currently president of both ELLWOOD Engineered Castings (EEC) and ELLWOOD Aluminum (EA), to focus on business growth exclusively at EA.

Adam has been with ELLWOOD for over 20 years, beginning his career working in operations where he developed deep expertise in EEC’s production processes. He advanced to a supervisory position in 2006 and became General Manager of EEC in 2021. Under his leadership, EEC has consolidated its position as the largest and most capable ingot mold foundry in North America.

Adam holds an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Phoenix and an MBA from Youngstown State University. In his new role, he will be responsible for shaping future strategy and overseeing production of EEC’s full portfolio of specialty ingot molds, including stools, sprue plates, center runners, hot top castings, and slag pots.

“We’re excited to welcome Adam to this leadership role,” said Ben Huffman, ELLWOOD President and CEO. “His deep experience and commitment to our values make him an outstanding fit. We take pride in promoting talent from within, and I look forward to all that Adam will accomplish in this next chapter.”

Callihan’s transition to focus exclusively on EA reflects ELLWOOD’s commitment to growth in high-value markets, including aero, space, nuclear, defense and semiconductor. Since joining EEC in 2012 as Vice President of Technical Sales, Pat has played a key role in ELLWOOD’s growth. He became President of EEC in 2016, driving performance to unprecedented levels and spearheading the successful launch of ELLWOOD Aluminum in 2020. “Pat’s leadership and vision will continue to drive EA’s next phase of growth,” Huffman added.

Adam resides in Youngstown with his wife Lisa and their three children. He represents ELLWOOD’s strong family culture; his father Bob Scarmack retired from EEC in 2019 after a distinguished career of nearly 20 years and has since returned to support the Team as a finishing crew leader.
