ELLWOOD, a leader in the steel and specialty metals manufacturing industry, announced that their Metallurgy Scholarship has been increased to $25,000 for the 2026 to 2027 academic year, reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing the next generation of talent in materials science and metallurgy.
Applications are now being accepted for the ELLWOOD Metallurgy scholarship, which is open to college juniors majoring in materials science or metallurgy at an accredited four-year college or university. Students can apply at ELLWOODGroup.com/metallurgy.
As part of the expanded investment, ELLWOOD is offering a top award of $25,000, which includes a paid internship opportunity at one of the company’s 25 locations across the United States. Additional scholarships and internships may also be awarded to other well qualified applicants.
Interested students are required to complete an online application that includes an essay, two letters of recommendation, and a resume. Completed applications are due by October 1, 2026 where they will be reviewed and selected by a committee, with an announcement to follow shortly after.
“I got to participate in the actual industrial environment, which is what I really wanted out of this experience,” said Abigail Rosendahl, 2025 ELLWOOD Metallurgy Scholarship recipient. “The scholarship made a major impact on my educational journey.”
