Leetonia Exempted Village Senior Awarded $20,000 ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship

ELLWOOD is proud to recognize Leetonia Exempted Village senior Michael Mango as the latest recipient of the ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship. Michael was awarded $20,000 to support his continued education in Electrical Technology at the New Castle School of Trades.

This scholarship presentation took place at A La Cart Catering in Canfield, Ohio, where ELLWOOD’s Director of Talent Management, Dena Baptiste, joined school staff and the Mango family to officially present Michael with his scholarship documents and welcome him to the ELLWOOD team.

The Industrial Electrical Technology program prepares students for in-demand careers in manufacturing, energy, and automation by combining classroom instruction with hands-on technical training. Students develop foundational skills in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical applications while gaining experience with robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), machine control systems, telecommunications, and advanced industrial equipment. The program equips graduates with the knowledge needed to install, maintain, and repair today’s increasingly automated systems.

First introduced in 2021, the ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship is part of ELLWOOD’s ongoing commitment to building strong connections with local schools and supporting the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Multiple awards worth up to $20,000 are available to graduating high school seniors and GED recipients pursuing education in Mechatronics or equivalent industrial maintenance programs at accredited trade schools.

This milestone reflects ELLWOOD’s mission to support education, strengthen workforce development, and invest in the communities where it operates.
