Two Moniteau Seniors Awarded $20,000 ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship

ELLWOOD is proud to recognize Moniteau seniors, Zane Rott and Zetta Stroup, as the latest recipients of the ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship. Zane was awarded $20,000 to continue his education in Electrical Engineering at Slippery Rock University and Zetta was awarded $20,000 to continue her education in Electrical Technology at the New Castle School of Trades.

This scholarship presentation took place at Moniteau High School in Moniteau, PA, where ELLWOOD’s Director of Talent Management, Dena Baptiste, joined school staff and the members of the Rott and Stroup family to officially present Michael with his scholarship documents and welcome him to the ELLWOOD team.

The Electrical Technology at the New Castle School of Trades program prepares students for in-demand careers in manufacturing, energy, and automation by combining classroom instruction with hands-on technical training. Students develop foundational skills in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical applications while gaining experience with robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), machine control systems, telecommunications, and advanced industrial equipment. The program equips graduates with the knowledge needed to install, maintain, and repair today’s increasingly automated systems.

The Electrical Engineering program at Slippery Rock University provides students with a strong foundation in electrical systems, and emerging technologies through a blend of classroom instruction, project-based learning, and hands-on laboratory experience. Students develop practical skills in areas such as circuit design, embedded systems, digital technology, and advanced electronics while applying engineering principles to real world challenges. The program prepares graduates for careers in engineering, technology, manufacturing, and innovation driven industries by equipping them with the technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities needed in today’s evolving workforce.

First introduced in 2021, the ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship is part of ELLWOOD’s ongoing commitment to building strong connections with local schools and supporting the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Multiple awards worth up to $20,000 are available to graduating high school seniors and GED recipients pursuing education in Mechatronics or equivalent industrial maintenance programs at accredited trade schools.

This milestone reflects ELLWOOD’s mission to support education, strengthen workforce development, and invest in the communities where it operates.
