ELLWOOD is proud to recognize Keystone Junior Senior High School Student, Seth Slaugenhaupt, as the latest recipient of the ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship. Seth was awarded $20,000 to support his continued education in the Industrial Electro-Mechanical program at the New Castle School of Trades.
This scholarship presentation took place at Keystone Elementary School in Knox, PA, where ELLWOOD’s Director of Talent Management, Dena Baptiste, joined school staff and the Slaugenhaupt family to officially present Seth with his scholarship documents and welcome him to the ELLWOOD team.
The Industrial Electro-Mechanical Technology Program prepares students for careers in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, and automation through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on technical training. Students gain experience in commercial and industrial electrical systems, HVAC, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, equipment maintenance, and forklift operation while developing skills needed to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair modern industrial equipment and facility systems.
First introduced in 2021, the ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship is part of ELLWOOD’s ongoing commitment to building strong connections with local schools and supporting the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Multiple awards worth up to $20,000 are available to graduating high school seniors and GED recipients pursuing education in Mechatronics or equivalent industrial maintenance programs at accredited trade schools.
This milestone reflects ELLWOOD’s mission to support education, strengthen workforce development, and invest in the communities where it operates.
